My Reviews & Blog
The birth of JLO
This was the album that elevated Jennifer to superstar status and listening to the tracks, it's easy to understand why. She really made a statement by coming out with 'Love Don't Cost A Thing', which is still one of her best known songs and when 'Play' followed it up, everyone started to take notice. This is about the time I really became a fan of Jennifer. 'Ain't It Funny' is still one of my favourite songs ever and I loved the performance that Jennifer gave of this song during her first live concert on the Let's Get Loud DVD.
This is a lot better than your average remix album and feels like a record in its own right, rather than just a package that has been devised to get extra money from fans. The most amazing song isn't actually a remix, but the album version of 'Alive' taken from Jennifer's movie 'Enough'. This is a fantastic ballad and if you don't own it, it's worth buying the album just for this track alone. Aside from that, most of the remixes are fantastic too. My favourite is the Darkchild Remix of 'If You Had My Love', but there are a lot of great mixes to choose from here.
One of my favourites
I think the best thing about this album is that Jennifer was so happy and in love when she wrote and recorded it that she couldn't conceal it and it spilled over into every aspect of the album. I think that 'This Is Me...Then' is the perfect title because it really shows us exactly who she was and what she was feeling at that time and even though her life has moved on since then, that doesn't take away from the emotion or the truth of the songs when we listen to them today.
An Amazing Package
This is a great value CD/DVD set as you get all of Jennifer's music videos from If You Had My Love through to Baby I Love U! and Jennifer talks about each video concept. Jennifer always has amazing music videos and her videos always enhance the songs and make you like them even more than you did before. My favourite videos are I'm Glad, Baby I Love U, No Me Ames, Play and Alive, which should definitely have been released as a single!!!! You also get a bonus CD of remixes thrown in, what more can you ask for?
My favourite song from 'Rebirth' is definitely '(Can't Believe) This Is Me'. I think this song would have made a great single, I'm glad that Jennifer recorded it again in Spanish for her last album. I also love 'I've Got U', as it's so catchy. I think the main weakness in this record is that it loses pace towards the end and there aren't enough upbeat dance tracks. I think 'Whatever You Wanna Do' would have made a better single than 'Hold You Down', but it was a success and I still enjoy playing the CD.
A brilliant record
I love Jennifer's vocals on this album and she sings with more passion than ever before. I really enjoy listening to the album, even though I cannot understand Spanish, I can imagine what the songs are about and feel the emotion. 'Que Hiciste' is also one of my favourite music videos and really helps to bring the song to life. I think it's great that Jennifer has made this album, especially for all of her fans in Puerto Rico and other countries around the world.
'Brave' is definitely one of Jennifer's best releases. The lead single 'Do It Well' is a slice of pure pop genius and one of the standout tracks on the album. My other favourite songs are 'Wrong When You're Gone', 'Mile In These Shoes' and 'Brave'. This album has a great mix of R'n'B and pop songs and Jennifer's vocals are fantastic as always.

An impressive debut
In my opinion 'On The 6' passes the test for what makes a great album because when I listen to it now it still sounds fresh and current. Jennifer's vocals are really great and she already sounded like an experienced singer back in 1999. This album proves that she has always known instinctively exactly how to interpret a song. My favourite tracks are the ballads like 'Promise Me You'll Try' and 'No Me Ames' with Marc Anthony. I think this was the perfect debut for Jennifer and her fans will always love these songs.
