J.Lo hurt my career, Affleck claims
Ben Affleck has admitted dating Jennifer Lopez was "bad for his career".
The Pearl Harbor star conceded his high-profile two-year romance with the singer-and-actress - who he starred with in the widely panned 2003 movie Gigli while they were engaged - turned him into one half of the celebrity couple dubbed Bennifer rather than a credible actor.
He told Details magazine: "It was probably bad for my career. What happens in this sort of bleed-over from the tabloids across your movie work. I ended up in an unfortunate crosshair position where I was in a relationship and the media mostly lied and inflated a bunch of salacious stuff for the sake of selling magazines. And I paid a certain price for that."
The 35-year-old actor - who is now happily married to actress Jennifer Garner, the mother of his 22-month-old Violet - says his priorities have changed now he is a father and husband.
He added: "I'd be surprised if I am still living in Los Angeles in a couple years. Professionally it would be difficult. But that's not as important as the other thing."
The actor also revealed he is nervous about what critics will make of his directorial debut Gone Baby Gone.
He said: "I feel like Gone Baby Gone is a linchpin for my life. My career. I have a lot riding on it. I want it to work. Badly. I mean, a s**t movie comes out on 2800 screens? I've been there and it's embarrassing."

Anyone who will blame their "EX" for their horrible choices in film is an idiot. Get over it. It's been over 3 years, Move on. Quit USING Jennifer Lopez to get your name in the freaking paper. Move on. Jennifer hasn't mentioned his damn name Once, yet here he is time and time again using Jen's name to get some attention. Attention he wouldn't get otherwise. I don’t think he was saying anything negative about Jennifer…..he’s just saying that the media really focused way too much on their relationship when it should have been focusing on their work, which I do agree with.
However, I find it interesting that Jennifer is still flourishing while he is still talking about this……
Jennifer was probably the best thing that happened to him and he let her slip away……you can tell she was really in love with him when they were together.

he's so stupid. if anything it's his fault that his career went down the drains not jennifer. he's just trying to look for an excuse to bring her down cause he know's that she's gotten her life together and she's happy without him in her life. ben affleck needs a reality check cause even if he didn't go out with jennifer he still wouldn't have had a great career anyway. he's not even that great of an actor. so stop crying like a little baby and get over it. and that's all i gotz to say and i love you jennifer lopez.
