After the weird "J to tha L-O" and the brilliant "This is me..then", she came back after a little break for about one year. "Rebirth" was her fifth record so far and became her weakest album ever. What is it that this time she is not able to fulfill all our dreams? There not many dance tracks on this album once again, but there are enough you can dance to. When we listen to "Still around", "Ryde or die" or "Hold you down", we get tired of listening to these boring pop songs which they are. "I got u" is catchy enough to make us happy, but after that we get only some weird and boring stuff we don't need! Even the "This is me" ballad from Marc Anthony can't help this fact which can't find it's place on this record. So we have "Get right", "Step into my world", "Cherry Pie" and "Whatever you wanna do" left and this is it. In "Whatever you wanna do" you can hear clearly that her voice is in the background and she hasn't got the ability to sing this song. "Cherry Pie" would have been a good choice for a single in Europe - because it is pure pop. "Step into my world" is orientalic, but nice, "Get right" is the best song on this record. In fact there are only some nice beats on this album and some songs are just boring and weak. A few songs can show what a "Jennifer Lopez album" actually is, but compared to her older stuff this was just so weak and boring that "Rebirth" was not able to become a major success. Only hits on it are "Get right", "Cherry Pie", "Step into my world" and "Whatever you wanna do".
