childhood cancer

Hi Jennifer,

I am a huge Jennifer Lopez fan and hope that some how this gets to you. I would love to donate to the Los Angeles Children's Hospital but can't since my husband and I live in a one bedroom apartment with our two kids and his is our only income.I am a full time student and mother of two.
I have a 9 year old daughter whom has a friend named Susanna, she is 10 years old and was recently diagnosed with a cancer (brain tumor). She is a patient at the children's hospital, and started out being able to walk, talk, and do things for herself that most of us take for granted. She is now in a wheel chair but still keeps a smile on her face.
Today after getting home from school I was watching the news and saw a story about a boy with a brain tumor located in the same place as Susana's. They performed a experimental procedure giving him a new medicinal treatment that weakened his tumor and made it more susceptible to his radiation. The results were great. The medication caused significant shrinkage, allowing him a better chance at overcoming his illness.
Susana deserves that chance and I hope that you don't think I am asking for a handout... I am simply asking if maybe there is a way that you could provide her parents with knowledge on helpful resources. They have another daughter whom is older than Susana whom is wheel chair bound, and they also have a small son who is just over a year old. They are strong parents always polite and considerate of others. They are not fluent in English, so if possible could you maybe send literature in Spanish to their home address. They are my neighbors, we all live in the same apartment complex. As a mother of two beautiful and healthy girls I could not imagine one of my little girls battling such a terrible disease. Children are so strong, I think they are sometimes stronger than adults and much more resilient.

I hope that this somehow reaches you and maybe you can just send literature that they would otherwise not have access to. Thank You in advance

Betty

For all those who are fighting a life changing illness there is a program that offers people in these type of situations help with air fare. All you have to do is google... free air fare for cancer patients and it will be under the Angel corporation. They try to provide the patient with private transportation on corporate airplanes with seats available. You can also donate frequent flyer miles.
