been sightings of a unruly streaker!I have heard several reports of this streaker from several of my neighbors and others living in the

building who have spotted him running through the halls and around the amenitie deck at the late hours of the night. The only reports

I've heard of the night caper have come around 3am. It was hooked up improperly or something by the plumbers initially. And, yes some

residents of 11th and 12th floor had to move out while repairs are being made. The elevators would not allow you to punch a floor, however

you could use the call box (if you had someone to beam you up or if you carried your cell phone that the callbox calls) to let you go to your

floor. I haven't seen some of the troublemakers in a while. Trademark, being an affordable David Furman condo community has fallen to the

same demons of shortcutting that other similarly affordable developers have; but i cant help but wonder. I live in 230 South Tryon -- we

haven't had any elevator problems, but we did have a pipe break and flood a couple units (was a drain pipe from the roof). For instance,

we had a pipe that wasn't completely fitted in the shower. For instance, it's been unnerving when the elevator takes a 'hop'

sometimes as it resets itself, and the occasional security lockouts are aggravating. By the way, a third elevator would really alleviate over

use. Both my girlfriend and I find the management company very quick to respond. Yesterday, a guy complained about the carpet in the

elevator. Everyone seems to be courteous, except for some of the guests of residents. Last Saturday my girlfriend's mom took our dog down

to the doggie walk. They said something about throwing her in the water with the dog. The wait is always too long, which isn't surpising

considering the large number of floors and parking decks. I agree that that management company has been extremely helpful for any minor

issues that have come up (setting me up to buzz people in, granting the cable guy access, etc). I visited Trademark on a pet sitting visit

but I remember the elevator being somewhat jerky and not smooth. This building was never designed to have 4 elevators and there were never

any drawings shown otherwise because they don't exist. The building was designed and built with 2 high-speed elevators based on the

minimal # of residences per floor (10 max) and the fact that residential usage for elevators is much less than for office space. Once the

upfit construction, elevator problems, and the move in's taper off, then the elevator usage will stablize and will not be an issue. As

for the recent leak, this was CAUSED by a renter who had stuffed his disposal full which caused the dishwasher to overflow into the sink (the

dishwasher drains through the disposal into the sink). This brilliant renter then decides to pull the dishwasher out of the opening (instead

of turning it off). This broke the water connection to the dishwasher at the wall and caused flooding of this unit as well as 3 others.

I've considered that the elevator problem might subside a bit after things stabilize here, but how long should that take? Another problem

that came to mind is the excessive number of times that I have to use my key. After using your fob to take the elevator up, you have to use a

metal key to get at the pool, and have to use a key twice to get into the gym if the first door is closed. You also have to take a key with

you to go from the pool to the bathroom, I believe. Assuming that whole area needs to be locked off, there should be a single point of entry

where you use your key once, and then are free to move around. CAUSED by a renter who had stuffed his disposal full which caused the

dishwasher to overflow into the sink (the dishwasher drains through the disposal into the sink). Secondly, he said he turned on the

dishwasher and left his unit. I did want to mention the use of PVC piping was another something I thought was a pretty cheap alternative.

Moreover, all the resonant oscillations of the pipes, and the draining of flushed toilets could've been avoided had cast iron pips been

used. Granted, I'd rather drink water out of pcv pipes than copper and lead-soldered joints, but the drain pipes would be a lot quieter

with iron. The dishwasher is only supposed to be connected to the disposal only IF you have a two bowl sink where one can overflow into the

other. If it is a single drain sink then the dishwasher should be directly connected directly to the drain using a Y fitting. The intent is

to make sure there is no situation where the dishwasher can flood the apartment because a drain is plugged. Second, pulling a dishwasher

should require the removal of the mounting screws and it's hard to imagine someone going to the trouble with a clogged sink. One would

think that he would have at least turned it off before doing this. But say he didn't and pulled the dishwasher anyway, there should be at

least enough relief piping under the dishwasher to prevent the pipe from breaking at the wall and I would think the drain pipe would have

been the first thing to break. Now if the contractor made this connection as cheaply as possible I guess it would be possible to completely

break the connection including the required shutoff valve. There still should be a unit shutoff valve that cuts off all the water for the

unit. If there are such clueless people living in the Trademark, it would seem to me that having spent an extra $10 on the plumbing

could keep these kinds of things from happening. The cost saving measures Blvd Centro took have caused problems from the start and will

continue to cause problems. I would have to totally agree with you ABE FROMAN! In fact pretty much everything YOU wrote about the recent

FLOOD, is PURE FICTION! Get your facts straight before you try to make a point, please. The recent Flood had nothing to do with

disposals, sinks, or savagly ripping a pipe away. It involved the water connection to the dishwasher which was fitted incorrectly. Including

a condo on the 10th I might add Eye-wink This happened for over four hours, after returning home. Let us not forget, the TradeMark isn't new

to this kind of thing. TWO previous floods which hendered many, many residence! One in October of 2007, another in January of this year.

In my opinion Centro and Duval take the residence of the building as idiots, sending out emails. I mean people, come on!!On last note

of thought. Is anyone aware that Centro did not step in to assist or help the residence displaced by this last flood, not so much as a fruit

basket, apologizing for the inconvience! NO, Im sorry, NO ANYTHING! I understand they are devistated, by this unfortunate event. I

have spoken with several people effected by the other floods. Some of whom have not returned to their homes as of YET--From the January

flood!Yes, TradeMark is a great looking building, and for many a great place to call home. I had decided not to bother replying to any

more comments on this website because people will believe what they want to believe whether they know the truth or not. I am not going to

debate what happened with the recent leak with you. What I will do is respond to your comments about the fact that Centro has done nothing to

help these people affected by these leaks. The 3 leaks in the building have been unfortunate and the first 2 have been contractor error. In

all three cases, Centro and Duvall have stepped up to make sure the repair work for these damages got started ASAP after each event and

paying for the work through insurance in lieu of waiting for the plumbing contractor's insurance company to determine a course of action.

They have put themselves at risk on the cost of this work and will probably have to sue the plumbing contractor to recoup this money. In

addition, on the first 2 leaks, Centro put homeowners affected by these leaks up in unsold condos until the repair work on their places was

completed (some of this work is still ongoing). So the company that you say takes the residence of the building as idiots has to take a loss

on these units when they do sell them because they have now been lived in and have to be sold as used instead of new condos. This was a

choice that they made to try to help the people affected by these leaks. It is a few feet of drop and then it slowly goes down to the next

floor. I sympathize that it is an unsettling experience having been in the elevator when it happened. I know that it has been very

frustrating for the homeowners. What people don't see is what Centro has been doing to try and resolve this problem. You should ask

Centro for a list of the things Otis has done in search of the problem (it's staggering) or ask Centro about the third party elevator

inspector that they hired to review the work that Otis has done. Centro actually paid substantially more to have these elevators installed in

the building because they are high tech and high speed (The Avenue has the exact same elevators by the way). They are also the only elevators

in the entire country that had this drop problem and it took Otis a long time to determine the problem. Watchdog and its Homeowners Consumer

so much talk around the world about global warming over the last few years many home owners are only just starting to notice the effects.

Australia has only just recently come out of an extended drought period and many parts are still suffering the effects. The effects of the

drought in rural areas have filtered down to the urban areas with many of Australia’s major cities now affected by water restrictions.

A few years ago many local governments introduced a water tank rebate which still continues today. This has seen a huge rise in water tank

manufacturing companies on the east coast of Australia trying to cope with the demand driven by the new urban market. Great for the consumer

but not for struggling manufactures. BASIX is the building sustainability index, which is an evaluation tool developed by the NSW Government,

to ensure that natural resources such as energy and water are conserved. BASIX is designed to reduce the impacts of new housing on the

environment. BASIX tool currently assesses the potential performance of proposed new housing against various sustainability indices,

including landscape, stormwater, water, thermal comfort and energy. BASIX regulations which means in part water tanks for everyone building a

new house or doing major renovations. Builders are now lining up to purchase rainwater tanks in order to have their building passed off by

the building inspectors. This is time frame varies from time to time and is to the extreme but a wait of 3 to 4 weeks is normal. They are

great for the environment and it’s a great feeling to be able to do what you want, whenever you want with the water you collect off you

roof without fear of being reported by nosy passersby and prosecution by the water police. Young is a third generation master plumber running

his own plumbing company since 2001. Lewis is an esteemed authority in the nightlife industry. People my age remember him as the cute little

red-haired kid with that winning smile and quick brain. America Underwood Deviled Ham, and soon he was way bigger than that product. From

what I’ve seen of it, once you’re in the eye or brain of an adoring public it is very hard to walk away or not continue down that

road. Mason’s strange case of celebrity lasted just short of when he could really exploit it; the career that spawned his fame was over

as he turned seventeen. Mason was far more than cute; he was very bright and was to be a serious club operator at NowBar for many years after

the age of thirty. Then you're celebrity fades and you got into the hospitality business. The producers wanted me to be on the Hollywood

Squares and the network said no because a lot of that show had double entendres that were slightly sexually oriented and they didn’t

feel that an eight year old kid should be on a show like that. They said no because it’s too late, too sexually oriented, and a

ten-year-old co-host just wouldn’t have felt right. So you got this big break because you had a physical look. That’s the NowBar,

which I’m sure you remember is the old Milk Bar, Jack Lesko’s place for years and years. She designed the Milk Bar and became my

partner in design later. That was always his favorite thing to say whenever there was a problem. Many people remember Jack wearing snazzy

hats and a being little bit older than the rest of the people. A cigarette with a filter in one hand and a cognac in the other. Well, Scotty

was the face and Zach was the guy behind the scenes a lot, but Zach was definitely there. Milk Bar and the NowBar about six different things

were in and out of that space. And I was gonna reintroduce an automat downstairs and peeps could come in to get quick food from the automat.

I was gonna have a bar and I was gonna call that Revolver. So you get Automatic, and Revolver was the bar, and I was gonna have pictures of

mobsters on the wall. So I had it all planned out and I think it would have been a total failure. I think it would have, because that space

as interesting and unique as it was, it had a huge drawback. I’m gonna get to an interesting story on that in a second. So when I first

sat down with Jack, he denied me the space even though he knew me for years. And I said â€Jack, I’m actually gonna use it as my

apartment, and I’ll sign a waiver saying that. But after about eight months I was struggling and I told Jack. You know rent increases

obviously per year, but the reason we stayed for ten years was because Jack gave me the break. But there are always people we mention behind

the scenes. Scotty Taylor and Arthur Weinstein, and there are other people around the scene, who have been around for a very long time, and

the public doesn’t really know who they are, and yet they pull a lot of strings. Danny and Michael’s new rooftop and I met the

manager Anthony, who is a young guy. Anthony was, or maybe still is, I don’t know, but he was partners with Richie Romero. I turned to

Michael and said, â€You’re not gonna believe this Michael. Richie Romero, Vegas, Bill Fresco, who is Gordon Van Brock’s right

hand guy, Danny A, Alon Jibli, and Richie Akiva all promoted at my club the first year we were open. Bill Fresco did a whole year at my club

on Thursday nights. With Vegas, and of course with NowBar, I remember coming to his parties and it was crowded, and I remember him counting

the money at the end of the night, and I was like man this guy’s good. All you needed was sixty or seventy good looking people and the

place looked busy. It’s funny because everyone says to me â€Well why do you charge $9 for a Jack and coke? The alcohol itself not

only costs a dollar or a buck-fifty, but there are so many things behind the scenes. It was always a good crowd and it just felt comfortable.

I’m sure you know that we morphed into something very different. For the last four years of our existence, we were like the number one

tranny club in New York. They drink, they tip well, and they don’t really start commotion. So you moved from the promoter driven models

as bait type promo into this alternative lifestyle party. Essentially the promoters outgrew me, and they wanted to make a lot more money at

the door than was possible. So either you charge five or ten at the door and make three grand at the door or we can’t really work

together anymore. But it’s amazing to see what those guys have actually morphed into. How did you go from this celebrity where you were

with Lorne Michaels and almost on Hollywood Squares, and then you go into the hospitality business. First of all, at seventeen, when I

basically decided that I hated people, and I didn’t really want to work in the business anymore, and didn’t like kids my own age

– and I never went to college either – I decided I wanted to know what nightlife was all about in New York City. People don’t

know him nowadays; Fred Rothbell-Mista was as one point one of the most important figures in New York nightlife. You talked about NowBar,

with the tranny nights toward the end, then you decide to shut it down, or how does that come about? The fact of the matter is, I wanted

NowBar to be a boy and it turned out to be a girl. That doesn’t mean that we didn’t have some good promotions and some good

parties. And what happened was Zach sold the building seven years into my ten year lease, to a lovely guy who was a plumbing contractor. I

gotta be honest with you Steve, I didn’t really want to stay. Four years of tranny parties three nights a week was almost enough to make

me slit my wrists. And because I was the sole proprietor, I could come and go, do whatever. So that was the reason NowBar closed, but we

opened up Paladar here in 2001, because I was getting bored. Right, and by the way, on the record, I will never do a restaurant again.

It’s too many headaches, and not nearly as much profit. Oh we’re doing well, knock on wood or whatever this is, but god we’re

doing well. I don’t necessarily play well with others, and we have three other partners, here including the chef. I will tell you what's

going on behind the scenes, what's new, cool and now, and why some clubs continue to please. For over twenty years the clubs that he has

operated have dominated the NYC scene.
